Exchange Transaction Charge

NSE and BSE charge a small fee for executing trades on their platforms. About ₹3 on a ₹50,000 trade. Identical at every broker.

What is the exchange transaction charge?

Every time a trade executes on NSE or BSE, the exchange charges a small fee. This fee funds the exchange's infrastructure, technology, and regulatory compliance. It's collected by your broker and passed through to the exchange.

On a ₹50,000 delivery round-trip, the exchange charge is approximately ₹2.97 — plus ₹0.53 GST on the exchange charge, for a total of ₹3.50. Tiny, but non-zero.
